~Character Created By Zeldaeinstein~

Name: Mervil
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown
Race: Hylian
Birthplace: Unknown but speculated to be in the ancient kingdom of Crandall

Clothes: Mervil wears a heavy black travelling cloak with matching garments beneath. Heavy and worn boots clad his feet.
Equipment: All he carries with him is an aged longsword and an ancient spellbook with which he is never seen reading.
Attacks: Other than the standard sword fighting skills, he is able to manipulate his blade using spells from his spell book. These would include 'Flame Scythe' 'Earthen Strike' ' Precipice' 'Gouging Swing'

Special Ability: Torrent. An all powerful ray of black light erupts from the pages of his magical book absorbing everything and turning them into stone or ash.

Weaknesses: Though quite strong physically and magically, his main weaknesses include Water based magic as well as himself (We'll explain that later on)

Personality: A very kind and understanding man with a charm about him, but can grow a grudge quickly based off of almost nothing. Though not very trustworthy or open others find themselves being so when talking to him. Behind his pale blue eyes that lock away everything his soul stings but he does not give at any moment dealing with it inside like a torrential storm. His compassion hides underneath his composure and no one knows exactly his mood at any given time. Mervil angers quickly, something that if gone unchecked results in an outburst of everything held back becoming the monster he wishes to seclude himself from.

Appearance: Tall and thin. Pale blue eyes, light complexion, jetblack and thick hair including a ragged beard. A scar runs from the side of his face to his shoulder. His right hand is continuously hidden beneath his sleeves.

Backstory: Born into an average family in the ancient kingdom of Crandall, Mervil lost his parents to the first Doopliss war. His father being in the army he soon followed suit. The second time that Doopliss attempted to take over his kingdom he and the soldiers rose to defend themselves led by one Daphnes Nohansen the First. It was during the battle of the Gold Tower that he was thrown through the floor into a secret room beneath the tower's foundation. Striking down the Darknut warrior he peered around and lay witness to an old spell book kept locked away from humanity. His right hand graced the cover and opened it in curiosity, and was consumed by a black light. Scarred he looked in horror at his partial hand that seemed to bear half consistency to that of normal matter. But it was done, the book lay open the curse gone due to the man's pure and noble heart. Mervil grazed through the pages feeling magic issue into his body until he felt immortal. A life spell now radiated from him, the powers of a wizard gone past raced through him, he would live forever until murder.

But even this granted upon him did not heal the pain of losing all that he loved. A tyrant arose eradicating his land, his people, thus all that he held dear. One of the few survivors of that third war waged on his land, he went into hiding into the new kingdom of Hyrule founded by his idol. Hired as a blacksmith he honed his skills in combat all the while delving into the deep recesses of the Magic Book he had stumbled upon...never knowing the curse still ate away at his body all this time, for no one's heart is pure as was needed to break it completely. And then after becoming integrated, finally feeling safe...the village he lived in fell to arson by strange beings in the night, he was the only survivor.

No one has seen him since, or so they say. His name has fallen into legend, as if he never existed. People claim they sometimes see a tall man in a travelling cloak out in the middle of storms, a ghost tale to them all, no one could have survived that disaster. But in reality it was him going among the lands looking for a place where he could call home, where nothing bad or horrible would happen again, but his search was in vain. Wherever he went sorrow surrounded him, either it was there and he caused it to strive, or it came with him, his own personal fight against the war inside his mind. This is the legend of a man scorned, of a man who lost everything, searching for a new home...one he would never find and knew so himself. But one day...he stumbled upon a place like no other, and he fell to his knees crying out to the heavens looking back at the ruins of Crandall, knowing that this was his only true home, and it had already been erased years and years before.

Mervil lives in the shadows now, the shadows of the land known as Hyrule and the ones of his soul.

Special ability: Arrow rain-shoot a hail of arrows at numerous opponents. Useful when surrounded or out numbered.
Weakness: Easy to influence and control, easily manipulated, too trusting and can become overly confident. Can’t swim worth beans.
Backstory: An elderly man in his late thirties was out for a walk when he noticed a young woman lying on her side a few feet away. Curious, he cautiously approached her. Upon further inspection, he saw several cuts and bruises on her body through the ripped garments she had on. Concerned for the stranger’s welfare, he gently picked her up and carried her to his cottage home in the secluded forest far east of Kakariko Village. There he tended to the girls various wounds and injuries. When she awoke four days after, he asked her who she was and what’d happened to her. Upon asking, he noticed a strike of fear in her eyes.
She had no recollection whatsoever. She knew nothing about her past or even about why she’d been unconscious in the first place. However, there was one memory that had been spared; the memory of a black cloaked man. It was the only memory she had and she couldn’t get it out of her head.
The man who’d cared for her (she later found out that his name was Xanath) took pity and allowed her to stay. He enjoyed the company and the two would sit by the single fireplace and chat. Thus, the days in the little cottage house dragged on. And still the girl did not remember her past. She’d lay awake at night, angry, thinking hard, forcing herself to remember. She examined the items the old man had said he’d found lying with her; a bright red bow with a couple of silver arrows. She didn’t remember ever using them but when Xanath had told her to test out the bow and arrows on a couple of targets he’d made, she’d hit a perfect shot every time. This surprised the heck out of her. Since when was she a master of the bow? Still, even practicing with the bow did not stir her memories. This caused her anxiety to grow. Just who was she?
One sleepless night, she could bare it no longer. She decided to go out and find her identity. She’d track down the man from her memories. Perhaps he’d know a thing or two about her. Not being able to say good-bye to her friend Xanath, the only friend she knew, she left a note explaining her intentions, grabbed her equipment (along with a month’s ration of food) and silently left the little cottage house…

~Character Created by Yazstromo~

Name: Yazstromo, the Humorously Senile
Age: He's not sure...he's narrowed it down to either 106 or 16.
Gender: Male
Race: Human

Appearance: Elderly man with long white hair and beard, both of which are perpetually untidy. Has a slight hunch, but if he stood straight he would be of a considerable height. Has eyes which, if they weren't clouded in thought, would probably be able to pierce you to your very soul.
Personality: Pleasant demeanour, if not a little...eccentric. He gets frustrated easily, but hasn't been seen angry in current human memory.
Birthplace: He's not quite sure...the earliest place he remembers being was in his forest home, but he also pictures himself as only ten years younger...which I suppose could work if he were 16.

Clothes: Wears long green robes with a purple emblem on the front, which he doesn't know (or remember) the meaning of. Has a necklace made of bent forks. When travelling, he wears a matching green, pointed hat, which is a bit battered around the edges.
Equipment: Carries a wooden staff with a crystal spoon embedded in the end. He has a near-bottomless bag filled with spoons, with different runes carved on them. He also carries an expandable crystal ball, a golden whistle, and a monkey skeleton in a box, with a Post-It note on the front saying "Important! Keep nearby at all times!". He recently acquired an antique spear from an auction, which he keeps strapped to his back. He must be a professional strongman to be able to carry so much...

Attacks:
Pointy Poke - Jabs at people with the spear he got in an auction.
Silver Lightning - Summons electricity from his staff which he uses to shock his foes.
Just Need To Get Something From The Drawer... - Uses various spoon talismans to summon practically anything he needs...so why does he need to carry around the monkey skeleton? Oh right, the Post-It note.
Afternoon Nap - Puts people to sleep with various rates of success.
Special Ability: Where The Whistle Comes Into It, or, "Songbird...OF DOOM!" - Upon blowing the whistle, one of three things will happen: 1. Absolutely nothing, besides Yazstromo getting to blow a whistle before being brutally pummelled by whatever enemy he's currently fighting. 2. He summons a platoon of his Grand Army of the Kitchen-Drawer Republic, from whatever nation they're currently laying waste to. 3. He summons his semi-omnipotent ape-servant, Chimpy McChimp, from his beachhouse in the centre of the universe, who may or may not help him out of whatever pickle he's gotten himself into this time.
Weaknesses: He has a weakness to jade, and the letter G.

###

Backstory: Yazstromo is a simple man, who is as anachronistic as he is skilled at playing the banjo while navigating down the Niger River. If that sentence made not a lick of sense to you, then you get a feel for what it's like being around Yazstromo. He lives in his tower on the edge of Darkwood Forest, which is nicer that it sounds. That is, it's nicer if, in your language, "Darkwood Forest" translates to "pestering boil of pus surrounded by scabby wounds infested with maggots". I mean, maggots haven't been seen in Darkwood Forest for a few decades.

But Darkwood Forest is distant and secluded, which is exactly what you want if you're trying to escape your past. Unfortunately, having nobody but a semi-omnipotent chimp for company tends to get a little boring, and because of this, Yazstromo began to lose his memory. Yeah, turns out severe boredom does that to a person. Slowly at first, without his noticing, his memories began to disappear. Then, in a wave of forgetfulness, he forgot practically everything, which he also didn't notice, but that's because he didn't remember there was anything to be noticed missing.

Over the next year, he learned Ape, so that he could speak to the strange chimp he found when he woke up one morning. Then he spent the next year learning English, once he realised that the chimp didn't speak Ape. Finally, he asked the chimp what his own name was, and then he was set. From this point, he began his new-lifelong love affair with silverware, becoming the foremost (and only) expert in cutlerology. Shortly after Yazstromo had become skilled in cutlerology, Chimpy McChimp decided to leave the primative monkeyman and retire to his beachhouse. After all, very little seems interesting once you've seen a person create a vast and incredibly effective army out of their silverware collection. Now Yazstromo spends his time wandering the earth looking for something to occupy himself with. After all, very little seems interesting after your semi-omnipotent ape-servant leaves you for their beachhouse in the centre of the universe.

Those are the characters already created and approved. Make sure to start making RP characters those of you who haven't! You'll be missing out on greatness to come ^_^
